How we reach you on the Lower Rhine

On the Lower Rhine distances are long, and the A40, A44, A52, A57 and A61 motorways are the main routes – towards the Ruhr area, Düsseldorf and the Netherlands. We come to the towns as well as to small villages and farms in the countryside, and to Weeze Airport too.

We serve the Lower Rhine from our head office in Willich (Hochbendstraße 81, 47877 Willich), and Krefeld itself from our Krefeld location at Geschwister-Scholl-Weg 3. We are usually with you within 30 to 45 minutes. We tell you the exact arrival time over the phone before we set off.

Our call-outs on the Lower Rhine since June 2026

From June to October 2026 we were called out 59 times on the Lower Rhine, most often in Mönchengladbach (12), Krefeld (7), Viersen (7), Erkelenz (5) and Kempen (3). 23 drivers had not started the engine at all – then draining and flushing the tank is usually enough. Petrol in a diesel was the most common mistake with 17 cases, plus diesel in a petrol car 6 times and 5 cases involving AdBlue.

• In Nettetal a Belgian family did exactly the right thing: engine off, phone call – draining the tank was enough.

Wrong fuel on the Lower Rhine: what to do now

• Leave the engine off – and the ignition too. In many vehicles the fuel pump already starts running when you switch on the ignition.
• Already driving? Stop safely at once and switch off the engine. If you keep driving until the engine cuts out, you make the damage worse.
• Call us or send a WhatsApp message: your location, the vehicle, what and how much you filled up with, and whether the engine was running.
• Don't have the car towed and never pump it out yourself – we pump it out on site; pumping it out yourself is out of the question because of the risk of explosion.

How much does pumping out cost on the Lower Rhine?

Pumping out on site starts at €95 incl. VAT. Including call-out and disposal, a job usually costs around €300 and never more than €600. The price depends on where the vehicle is, what kind of vehicle it is and how many litres are in the tank, because the wrong fuel has to be disposed of in an environmentally sound way.
