Gasoline instead of diesel fueled

Petrol / Super fueled instead of diesel?

Gasoline in the diesel tank: A little inattention and you have wrong fuel in the tank, in this case gasoline in the diesel tank or super in the diesel tank. Even small incorrect amounts of fuel are detrimental to your engine. If you have fueled petrol or super instead of diesel, please stop the engine. If it does: stop immediately and switch off the engine.
If you have an older diesel vehicle (no direct injection), your engine can handle a small amount of gasoline. For common rail and pump-nozzle diesel engines built in 1999 but gasoline is very harmful.

Gasoline in diesel, super in diesel

Never start the engine and have the fuel pump pumped out by a specialist. Under no circumstances try to empty the tank yourself (danger of explosion due to highly flammable fuel mixtures and electrostatic charge). If the engine with the wrong fuel has not been started, pumping out the wrong fuel from the tank will suffice.

If you continue with the wrong fuel, a repair can cost several thousand euros. It may be necessary to replace the entire injection system as well as high pressure pump, injectors, fuel lines, and tank. The diesel high-pressure pumps are lubricated with flowing diesel fuel; This is not the case with gasoline. The high pressure pump may become stuck or stuck.

As a result, a blocking pump, timing belt or timing chain can affect or even rupture the engine, thereby causing a major engine failure. If your vehicle is equipped with a particulate filter (FAP), the much higher combustion temperatures of the gasoline can also destroy the particulate filter.
